Midnight Movies returns: The Blues Brothers x Save Curzon Soho
It's been a while but Midnight Movies are BACK! The cult curators of late-night movie fun (who started at Curzon Soho in 2008) return FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, on a mission to save a much-loved cinema, that old landmark: Curzon Soho. Michael Pierce and Nadia Attia tells us all about what's in store for us lucky night owls on Friday 6 May.
We're Putting the Band Back Together...
(please listen to this whilst reading this post)
With Michael now holed up in Liverpool and Nadia polishing off her first novel, we thought our midnight shenanigans were behind us but when news reached us that our old home was under threat from Crossrail 2 plans, we felt...
But now WE'VE SEEN THE LIGHT and we are putting put the band back together... what better way to protect the venue by reminding people that cinemas are the churches for the after-dark people, and by getting people dancing in the streets (and the aisles) with our old pal John Landis' cult classic: THE BLUES BROTHERS!
So come shake a tail feather with us, as we transform the venue into The Triple Rock Baptist Cinema, complete with a pre-screening party with our house singers London City Voices Choir, soulful sister on the decks DJ Madame Frou Frou, mug shots, Soho Confessions booth and exquisite themed cocktails. Plus some exclusive 'stained glass movies' by Daniel Pomlett.
Friday 6th May, Curzon Soho
9.30pm start in the bar - 2.30am (Film starts 11.30pm)
With special thanks to Midnight Movies and The London City Voices Choir.
