Situated in a beautiful cathedral city, Curzon Ripon is a new state-of-the-art two-screen cinema, showing the latest mainstream, independent and family films from around the world, as well as events such as the New York Metropolitan Opera and National Theatre Live.

The venue also hosts two fully licensed bars, and hosts a Film Quiz, local art exhibitions and live music events, making it a significant cultural hub for the community.

Curzon Ripon is only a two-minute walk from the Ripon Bus Station.

The 36 bus operates a frequent service (up to every 15 minutes) between Leeds and Ripon, via Harewood, Harrogate and Ripley.

There are also regular bus services to York, Thirsk and Northallerton. 

The nearest Rail Station is in Harrogate with a regular service to Leeds, York and London. 


In 2013, Curzon Ripon brought cinema back to Ripon 31 years after its last picture house closed. 

The building on North Street was a furniture store for many years but had been closed for several years before the owners made the decision to convert it to a cinema.

The city, which once had three cinemas, saw its last one, the Palladium, in Kirkgate, close its doors in 1982, after showing films for 66 years. The last film to be screened was Clint Eastwood's Firefox. 

In 2014 Curzon Ripon celebrated being part of the Tour de France with a special mini-festival of cycling films.


All screens are fully accessible with infrared hearing loop systems for the hard of hearing installed.
