A three-screen boutique cinema in the city centre and its thriving cultural district, Curzon Sheffield is housed in a converted 19th Century bank.

The central location in the heart of Sheffield's cultural district, as well as the heritage of the city are key inspirations for the interior design of Curzon Sheffield, which incorporates industrial cues with steel and silver plating, modern stone and timber floors, dramatic lighting, reclaimed materials, vibrant patterns and bold colour fabrics within the existing architecture.

This unique combination of heritage, modern design and technological innovation is the expression of our mission to bring to Sheffield over 80 years' experience in making cinema unforgettable - from our unique programme of the finest independent films, to providing the best possible viewing conditions with pin-sharp projection and comfortable seats, and a special touch in selecting a delightful food and drinks menu to accompany your post-viewing conversation in our lounges and roof terrace.

A CINEMA TO BANK ON

The cinema is located in George Street, in a historic building which dates back to 1793. In 1831 it became the Head Office of the Sheffield Banking Company. Works and alterations to the building were carried out alongside various mergers and iterations of the banking company, and it is now a Grade II listed building.

Under Curzon the old bank has been refurbished in a sympathetic way to preserve its character and highlight some of the original features, including the high ceilings and ornamental entrance and lobby, while preparing the space to house a contemporary three-screen cinema.
